Development (General) / Re: Janus-UAE2

Nikos, Janus-UAE2 is not ready and not fully useable yet. I contacted o1i a few days ago. He said that he has unfortunately no time at the moment for Janus-UAE2 due to his job and real life. So I think we have to wait.  :)

Usually there is a Windows Emergancy CD/DVD. Maybe this can already help?

Years ago I found also a small Linux-Distribution that can be installed on a USB-Stick and boot from there. It had very easy to use recovery tools, but I can not remember its name unfortunately.

we (toni) are currently working on it trying to enable debugging it with winuae. other than that it already works (or should work) on most amiga hardware. unfortunatelly it doesnt boot through with the vampire. i am testing it on a lent machine right now.

I saw your (Tonis) commits on the AROS-mirror from ezrec today. Thank you both very much! Keep up the good work!

IIRC some filesystem handlers are not active by default in Icaros, because they are not stable in some environments. They are stored in a separate directory.

Development (General) / Re: AROS 68k Library

I can not help further.  :(

And according to this site there is still a lot to do to make AROS68k fully compatible:
https://en.m.wikibooks.org/wiki/Aros/Platforms/68k_support/Developer/Libraries

I don‘t know though, if it is 100% the actual status. And I doubt it is worth all the trouble...

Is the problem the same on plain AOS3.1? I ask because AROS should be as compatible as possible to AOS3.1 not AOS3.9... Sorry, but even that will not be 100% possible.

Example try to replace the Icon.library of AROS 68k on OS3.9 and you'll see that OS3.9 will not start anymore.
The icon.library in AROS is not complete! That is an incompatibility that is in general caused by the not yet supported icon types!

AFAIK ArosVision was a mix of AOS3 and AROS that works on WinUAE. I could not take a look at your video though...

No AROS 68k library runs on OS3.x AMiGA, while OS3.x libraries run on AROS 68k.

Example, if you replace some OS3.x libraries with those of AROS 68k, OS Amiga no longer works
Isn‘t that, what ArosVision was doing?  :o Do you have an example?
