I can't find the following files in the existing AROS builds:

  • DEVS:DosDrivers/AUDIO
  • L:AHI-Handler

Judging by the comments of the commits, they were moved to the core. OK!
I'm create a file DEVS:DosDrivers/AUDIO

Code: [Select]
Handler=AHI-Handler
Stacksize=4096
Priority=5
GlobVec= -1

Then I execute the command:
Code: [Select]
1.AROS> mount AUDIO:
Mount failure
ERROR: Object is exist!

Wonderful! Next command:
Code: [Select]
1.AROS> copy suprise.wav AUDIO:
Not copied - device is not mounted
WHAT?!

Original AHI AUDIO: supports Audio IFF and AIFF Compressed (AIFC) including Linear PCM (both big-endian and little-endian)
We know from the documentation for AHI Users.
The AROS documentation states that this is also supported.

What am I doing wrong?

This is normal because if the AUDIO DosDriver is in DEVS/DosDrivers it is mounted automatically.
If you want to mount AUDIO from a Shell you have to copy the AUDIO DosDriver in Storage/DosDrivers

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, on AfA One the command works only noise is heard

Then that's a big problem. For Amiga there is a large number application for which doesn't bother working with AHI, but simply sends PCM in AUDIO: (similar to the copy command from CLI), because it's a much simpler interface. In addition, it allows you to make cross-platform applications outputting sound for Amiga similarly to output for other OS. If that only noise is heard, then it's understandable why sounding apps for AROS are so few...

Darkness. Files in the AIFF format are played by this method?
You can get an AIFF-file from MP3 under OS3.9 using mpdecode.

Tried mpdecode on OS 3.9 BB4 AfA One and the MP3/AIFF conversion works perfectly, I attach an exhaustive video!
