There is a problem with the update. storage reaction time for os4depot.net and aminet.net - 1 day, for archives.aros-exec.org from 3 months to infinity.
I look at it http://archives.aros-exec.org/index.php?function=uploads and I think it is completely abandoned, convince me if I'm wrong.
I don’t understand what should be the motivation to upload software to an archive that isn't updated.
Do I understand correctly that me need to download it entirely and store it somewhere? I remember the forum aros-exec.org and I was there, but now I read it through archive.org. There were useful things and old base has not been converted to this new forum, so i signed up from scratch. I'm afraid it will be the same. In archives.aros-exec.org has useful things and even my small releases.

The site itself is not abandoned, I'm still running the server side.
The problem is that the file moderators aren't approving files.
Perhaps you need to find some more (active) moderators?
These are the current moderators:
4play
ball000
nikos

Thank you very much for the information. I'm tried to can find this amigans, but..
No information in "Contact (http://archives.aros-exec.org/index.php?function=contact)" and broken link to old forum.
4pLaY has two releases (http://archives.aros-exec.org/index.php?function=modules/sql/filesbyuploader&submitter=4pLaY) and no information about connection with him inside readme.
nikos is probably the AspireOS author (http://archives.aros-exec.org/index.php?function=modules/sql/filesbyuploader&submitter=nikos+tomatsidis) aka nikos tomatsidis? Well, I'll write him a e-mail.
I didn't find ball0000 here (http://archives.aros-exec.org/index.php?function=modules/sql/topuploaders).
This will be an exciting investigation to find out who is active moderating archives.aros-exec.org :)

I took the liberty of updating the contact forum link.

How can one help out
Well, what is needed is one or more moderators that can handle files on a daily basis. And I suspect that the current moderators would want to vet anyone new and to teach them how to handle the admin interface.

Moderating is something completely different than uploading.
All mentioned names have an active account here on these forums. As a matter of fact one of them is even admin of this board (amongst others).

If there currently isn't active moderation, then that is simply what that means. You know, sometimes things happen and people can get a bit occupied by doing other things ... like things that really matters in life for example.
Or did you perhaps not noticed that the world has gone completely bunkers atm ?

Thank you! It's useful, I think all visitors will appreciate the effort.

Yes, these are two different words.

So far everything is correct. Perhaps you wanted to provide direct links to their profiles, but forgot to do so? ;)

It's contradict what you you wrote earlier. If archives.aros-exec.org currently isn't moderation, then the forum is even less read. The amount of effort to press the button "approove" should be much less than writing a text. it cannot be ruled out that moderators run smoke tests for uploaded. I cannot know for sure.

I wrote to Nikos on his personal e-mail. Let's wait in the end and we will return to this conversation a month later. :)

No. The number of posts on social media has only grown.

UPD: Nikos approove all (http://archives.aros-exec.org/index.php?function=recent), thanks to him! :)
-
Except that he didn't ;) He forgot to do the last step so I fixed that for him.

I have been very busy with both my "real life" and other projects. I added nikos as an admin not long ago, but it seems we need a few more.
This is not an exciting job, but someone has to do it. If you think you can help out both testing and approving uploads, send me a PM. Do NOT apply unless you know you can keep doing it over time, the last thing we need is more people who barely have time.

I could make myself useful, I don't work and I'm always at home, but I use odyssey with aros :)

Hi all, can someone delete: opentyrian2.1.lha? It has a bug in it and I need to re-upload.

Just as a reminder to the archive moderators. You must use the "Update all static files" in the admin interface when making any changes. That includes removing files or you'll end up displaying broken links.
Also, if there are any snapshots or youtube videos in the upload queue then these must be approved, followed by a "Update all static files", before any regular files are approved.
-
thank you 4play
-
Seems there's some files in the upload queue that aren't getting approved.

Ok, I have taken care of it.

@4pLaY
Thanks. Now there's a few more files to approve.

Done those as well.
Since i am the only one left actively doing this, i will try and check it from time to time, so you do not need to update this thread whenever there is something new.
